There are many members of our club who all have something worthwhile to contribute and that's what makes the Aces such a success on and off the track! Thanks to our hard-working members who contribute a lot of time to the club, whether its racing, carrying out maintenance to our facilities, looking after proceedings behind the scenes, donating useful items or even just spreading the word of our good sport, we are able to attract riders and teams from all over the country to come and take part in competitions which we hold on our very own international grade-A status race track.

Cycle speedway has a big social side to it as well. All the parents have time for every rider at the club and it's not unusual to see people cheering on and looking out for riders who are part of a different family. In fact, we are one big family who all care for each other and with members from many different backgrounds, no one will be excluded from enjoying time in our friendly environment. As families travel across the region, country and even world, more and more friendships are made and members of our club now have life-long friends thanks to our sport.

We have members from 5 years old up to 60 and beyond! And not necessarily all of them are riders, but still enjoy the sport just as much because here at Exeter, we aim to make each week enjoyable for everyone. Watching the sport can be just as much fun as taking part in it, so even if you don't fancy risking it yourself, please pay us a visit and watch the nutters battle it out with no brakes and absolutely no fear! Admission is always free of charge and you are always most welcome to come and lend your support to a club who will appreciate it.

Our club has a great foundation for a bright future. Among our members we have qualified British Cycling coaches who look after all riders and ensure they are able to learn the art of riding speedway in a safe but enjoyable manner. Also on hand are first aid qualified club officials who are present at all times of racing and training, to guarantee you and your children are in safe hands. Although this is a dare-devil sport, it's not often that crashes and pile-ups result in huge injuries. If you can cope with a small graze then you'll have no problem taking up the challenge!

There is always racing and opportunities to get involved for males and females of all ages and Local League racing on a Thursday night is designed to match riders with other members of the same capability, rather than age. This gives everyone the opportunity to have fun and stay motivated. British Youth & Junior League events take place throughout the South West and at National level too, providing more serious racing for individuals who want to take the next step on from Local League. As riders move up the ranks they may also get selected to race for Exeter in the regional division 1 league which comprises of team events rather than individual racing. How ever much racing you want to do, we can provide that for you, so waste no time and join us. Visit the 'beginner's guide' page for more information on exactly what the sport involves. We hope to see you very soon!

The club provides several training nights for newcomers to come and get involved. On your visit to the track you must ensure you arrive wearing a long sleeved top and full length trousers. Ideally you will also arrive with a helmet and pair of gloves however, the club does have a small supply of protection to lend out for the evening if you fancy trying the sport out before buying anything. We are also in possession of plenty of differently sized cycle speedway bikes which you may borrow whilst finding your feet in the sport. You may need to share the bikes and protective equipment with other newcomers. Once you are a fully fledged cycle speedway rider, you are encouraged to purchase a bike of your own. Members of the club will be happy to advise you on how one can be purchased.
